Year of the Cat Video Contest

Celebrate the Year of the Cat

The first ever Year of the Cat video contest was a huge success!  We received videos that made us laugh, videos that brought tears to our eyes, and videos that reminded us of the bond we share with our cats.

All the videos were wonderful, which made choosing the winners even more challenging!  In fact, the winner was chosen by just one vote!

The votes have been tallied and the winners are:

First Place: Oscar

I was adopted from the Spartanburg Humane Society this year, 2010.

This is going to be my first Christmas in my new home and I'm loving every second of it!

I'm sending hugs and kisses to everybody that looked after me and gave me love at the SHS.

Thank you guys!

<3 Oscar

Second Place: Titus

Titus was a shelter rescue from the Sumter, SC, SPCA. He is one of the best cats I've had in my life, and I couldn't imaging the last couple of years without him. He's moved from South Carolina to Georgia to Pennsylvania and back to South Carolina without missing a step. Titus has never met a stranger in any person, cat, or dog he has ever met.

Third Place: Lola, Emory, and Eva

I think my cats best represent the Year Of The Cat because they're always making me and other people laugh. They're so adorable and loving. It seems like they all know when you're feeling down, and they come to comfort me. These are the best little kitties I have ever had, and overall I love them more than anything, they are just bottom line; awesome.

Honorable Mention: Misfit

My cat thinks she is human. She sits on the couch like a human, she eats with her paws and she wakes me up every morning by meowing what sounds like "Mama"!! She is a fierce hunter! She caught 3 mice within the first week we had her! Misfit is great! I couldn't ask for a better cat!

Honorable Mention: Simon

Simon is the greatest find of my life. I am a realtor and I found him on a Sunday afternoon showing houses. He was just a kitty then but now he's grown into quite a handsome fellow. He plays fetch with his feather stick that now has no more feathers, he talks and says "Hello" and he plays football. He's truly a special cat that even charms those who "don't like cats" or are "allergic". They just can't help touching him... He's certainly touched me!
