To kick off "The Year of the Cat," a campaign raising awareness about America's #1 pet, the SHS Veterinary Clinic will be holding a special one day neuterathon. Males cats will be neutered for the amazingly low price of $6.00. This low price includes a microchip for permanent identification!
Because the SHS cares about the safety of your pets, all cats must be in carriers and up-to-date on their rabies and feline distemper (FVRCP) vaccines. These vaccines may be purchased at the neuterathon for an additional $5 each.
We bet you know someone who does! Please spread the word to friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors who need to know about this opportunity. We encourage you to download a neuterathon flyer and pass them out everywhere you go.
Why should I neuter my male cat?
* Spraying and marking what they think is their territory (it is often yours or your neighbors)
* The desire to roam in search of females in heat, making them less likely to escape and be injured in fights or by cars
* The risk of testicular cancer
* The risk of prostate disease
* Aggressive behavior
Now that all the dust has settled and all the paperwork has been completed, the SHS is proud to announce that we met our goal of neutering 250 male cats! We couldn't have done it without our many talented and dedicated volunteers. A big thank you to EVERYONE who put in their time and energy to help during this important event!
Please consider scheduling a regular appointment with our Low Cost Veterinary Clinic.
Because of a generous grant from PetSmart Charities®, Spartanburg County residents can have their cats and kittens spayed or neutered for just $15.00! Income eligible families pay only $5.00. (Learn if you qualify.)
Schedule your appointment online,or call the SHS Veterinary Clinic at 864.583.4805, ext.115. Please understand that call volume is very high. If you have to leave a message, we will return your call the same business day.
All cats must be up-to-date on their rabies and feline distemper (FVRCP) vaccines. These vaccines may be purchased for an additional $7 each, or $13 for both.
