Humane Euthanasia Services

Choosing euthanasia for a beloved companion is one of the most painful decisions we face as pet owners. It can also be the final act of kindness and mercy we can offer our pets.

At the Spartanburg Humane Society, we understand this and we are committed to helping pet owners at this difficult time.

We provide a painless and dignified death for your pet in a peaceful environment and you are always welcome to be present with your companion during euthanasia. We do not have a fee for this service, though donations are appreciated.

To schedule an appointment to be present with your pet during the euthanasia procedure:

Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.

If you do not wish to be present with your pet during euthanasia, no appointment is necessary. This service is available 7 days a week.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Sunday, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm

Cremation Services

We also offer private or communal cremations as a service to pet owners.

The fee for private cremation, including cremation and return of ashes is $65.00

Small Urn - $7.50
Large Urn - $12.50

There is no fee for communal cremation, though donations are appreciated.

Celebrate Cherished Memories In Our Tranquil Remembrance Garden

The SHS Remembrance Garden is a special place of reflection where we remember pets and loved ones. Many choose to inter the ashes of special pets in the garden's pond.

You may also permanently memorialize your pet by purchasing a personalized brick for our garden walkway.
